Covid and vaccinations

As a 79 year old pensioner,I am extremely interested in health issues. I have spent many hours trying to understand viruses in general, and Corona viruses in particular. I have no medical training or experience,as I avoid all vaccinations and pharmaceuticals, so it has been quite a challenging task. This has been made harder by the fact that almost all government and mainstream media reports have been ill informed and seem to ignore the scientific research and reports. I'm writing this article to state my understanding of the current situation, and I would be grateful for any guidance from those who are better informed or have greater scientific knowledge than me.  My opinions are based on the correlation of many facts, statistics and observations, and are not based on an specific report or third party opinion.
